Paras is passionate to help foster the economic and social development of Africa through investing in companies that catalyse the ecosystem via the benefits of energy, and helping these companies grow in a sustainable manner.
As a founding team member at EAV, Paras has been instrumental in building the fund’s Investment thesis and its portfolio strategy. Paras drove EAV’s first C&I, Wireless ISP and LPG investments as part of executing on the overall fund’s thesis. Paras also lead the transaction into d.light, the first fund’s first Exit.
Paras currently sits on the boards of Solarise Energy, Mawingu, Manocap Energy and Paygo Energy.
Before joining EAV, Paras was an entrepreneur having founded a startup in the UK and eventually exiting it in 2014 after having grown the company to be pan-European. Prior to that, Paras worked in Investment Banking and Asset Management with HSBC in London for 10 years in multiple roles, including being an integral part of restructuring their Asset Management business.
Paras holds a BEng (hons) degree in Engineering from the University of Warwick, UK and a MSc in Finance from the Warwick Business School, UK.
Paras is a native Kenyan, he speaks English, and Swahili.
